Concentric was retained by a housing co-operative to provide consulting and contract construction review services for a remedial repair and restoration program for the housing units located in Selkirk, Manitoba.

Approach & Methodology

The project involved the review of the exising property condition assessments, the preparation of a remedial action plan, design, tender and construction administration services. Phase I of the remedial action plan included the installation of new asphalt shingles and the upgrading of the flat roofs between adjacent units. Phase II involved interior renovations of the bathrooms and the kitchens, however this work did not proceed due to funding issues.

Key Challenges

The key challenges for this project involved developing proper transition with the flat roof and adjacent slope in unit roofing, as well as exterior cladding.
